Di seguito la presentazione del corso .
The purpose of the course is to look at the international protection framework for Refugees. It will consider this topic from an international law perspective but reference will also be made to the European framework. It will look at the refugee definition and will examine concepts such as well-founded fear, reasons for persecution, agents of persecution and the failure of state protection.
There will also be an examination of the increasingly used Internal Flight Alternative concept. This will be followed by practical case studies on applying the refugee definition. The second half of the course will explore the principle of non-refoulement and the application of exclusion, cessation and revocation of refugee status. The final session will examine the interplay between extradition, anti-terrorism measures and refugee law.
